How about a visit to New York, London, Paris or Rome? All you have to do is wear this tunic and you’re there. I didn’t even have to leave my back yard.
The fabric is a cotton jersey knit and it’s super cool and comfortable. You can find it here. I wore this outfit to work and everybody was asking “where did you find that top?” I swear I get so much pleasure from that question. It makes me all happy and warm inside.
For the tunic I used Simplicity 8059 View A. You can find it here. I’ve been obsessed with high – low tops and dresses for the past 2 seasons. I decided to switch things up a bit and go asymmetrical and I think I like it.
This was a very easy project. Just sew , serge and use the twin needle for the double stitch and you’re done. I threw on a silver necklace just to create a bit of interest. You don’t need to do much – I wanted to add a little bling.
I really like the banded neckline detail. I think it takes this top up a notch.
The fabric is very forgiving and it has great recovery. In other words, it snaps back and doesn’t stretch out.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you give this pattern and fabric a try. I promise you will love it. See you soon…..

Your top looks great! I like the asymmetrical look, but I worry it makes me look even shorter than I already am. Maybe it is time to give it a try!
Thank you Stephanie 🙂 Give it a try – if you are short just adjust the pattern length at the waist and maybe pick a solid vs a print fabric.
That’s so fab – love the print!

THANK YOU !
I love this top on you, and the fabric is to die for! I did a little hacking with this pattern when I made it. I had a great striped Jersey blend, and I wanted to have the stripes go the way of the hem, on the bias! Uhoh! So to control the stretch, underlined with very light weight ITY, not on the bias, and it turned out perfectly. I was by hand, and have done some little stitches here and there, hidden by the stripes, but it is very striking. As l am a Curvy Chick, it evens hides a little of the extra me! Thanks for sharing
Ooohhh I would love to see what you did with it. I know exactly what you mean about curves. I have to modify everything I make so when I find a fabric with enough body and stretch to make it around the hips….I’m a happy girl. 🙂
