Comfort and style at work!

Meet my sister, Anne! She is a conference planner for a governance non-profit that regularly hosts heads of state, politicians and dignitaries, along with lead researchers from around the world. When it’s time for an event, she needs to be able to set up chairs and tables and lug around equipment… and then look elegant and professional as the guests arrive!
We’ve been working on her wardrobe for years (she knits amazing things for me in return), but I have to say, I think this latest make is my favourite!

This is the Style Arc Adeline Dress, sewn in a minimal-and-modern Liverpool knit from Cali Fabrics. Liverpool is my favourite fabric for dresses that need some structure but also more drape than a ponte! It’s so easy to work with that I even put in a sneaky back zipper! This print is sold out, but how amazing would a work dress be in this diamond print, a floral, or this pink plaid?

Adeline is a great pattern, with the perfect v-neck and lovely wide facings at the hem and neckline. It runs up to size 30, and looks great on everyone I’ve seen make it!

Oh, and it had POCKETS! Which hide a button hole that lets Anne thread her Insulin pump through from the inside so that she can access the pump controls easily through the day.
What’s your ideal fabric for day to day? How do you blend comfort and style for work and play?
