I blog over at craftsanctuary.com, mostly about sewing, but occasionally about knitting, travel, and other crafty business. I am a Chicago transplant by way of New York, and I still have dreams about walking through the garment district after work.
I started sewing when I was a little girl. I was that weird kid that flipped through a catalogue looking for a birthday present, and said “Can I have a sewing machine?” I taught myself from there. I made doll clothes and hemmed pants throughout elementary school and college (I’m only 5ft tall!) and started making actual clothes for myself about 5 years ago.
I mostly make and wear dresses, but have been know to venture into the land of lingerie-making on occasion. I’ve also made a couple of separates over the years, but really it’s mostly dresses. Lots and lots of dresses.
