Summer Time

Hey guys! Is it starting to warm up where you live? It sure is here in New Mexico! My summer wardrobe is lacking a bit though, so what do I do when that happens? I sew a new outfit of course 🙂

I wanted a wide leg pant in a light weight fabric to wear on cooler nights this summer. I found this Midnight crepe fabric that turned out to be a great choice! It’s soft, has wonderful drape, and its wrinkle proof! I couldn’t believe it when I pulled it from the dryer and I didn’t need to iron it. Who doesn’t love that in the summer time!

So after I washed, I got to cutting. I chose to make the Summer Caye Pants from Love notions for my pair, I slimmed down the leg even more then the slim leg in the pattern. I used the Metropolitan pants from New Horizons Designs for my daughters pair.

I was a little worried on how this fabric would sew as I had ever used crepe before. But without any issues it sewed beautifully!

For our tops, I went with a double brushed polyester in Aqua. This was a first for me again. I have been drooling over double brushed polyester for what seems like forever. People weren’t kidding when they said it’s a magical fabric! It so soft and snuggly I didn’t put it down for days.

For my Tank Top I used the Lillie from Greenstyle Creations. For my daughters I used the Girls Key West Tank from New Horizons Designs. (Free if you are a member of her FB group)

The double brushed polyester went through my serger with no issues! And now I have a new favorite tank top! My daughter said it was the most comfortable outfit I’ve ever made for her. I call that a win.

Thanks so much for reading. Have a great day!
