If you follow indie patterns, then I’m sure you couldn’t miss the Zadie Jumpsuit by Paper Theory Patterns bursting onto the scenes this spring. It’s one of those magical patterns that seems to look good on everyone – and I mean everyone, because it’s available up to size 28!
You you know me – why sew a woven when I could make it in a knit? Once again, my trust favourite Liverpool fabric comes through! I used this black braided texture Liverpool from Cali Fabrics, and I think the effect is “super chic secret pyjamas”! But as proof the pattern works beautifully in any colour or print, may I present you a hot pink and teal version I made in this fabric in March?
That’s enough snow – let’s get back to summer in the park!
I know a lot of people worry about taking a jumpsuit on and off in a hurry. Who wouldn’t? I appreciate that Zadie doesn’t rely on a zipper for access – instead, it’s open halfway down the pelvis, so you just untie, unwrap, and shrug it off. When it is wrapped, it’s full secure and I’ve never worried about accidentally flashing anyone!
I trimmed the neckline and pockets with faux leather. I like how the texture contrasts with the knit!
Do you sew jumpsuits? I think they are the perfect garment to sew yourself, so that you can get the rise, length, fit and fabric just right!
